My partner Nicola is my regular tramping companion, and together we spend weekends in the Tararua Forest Park, and less often further afield. Most trips include Charlie our wirehaired vizsla. I climb things occasionally with a wider group of good friends.
I’m a member of Wairarapa LandSAR and have a NZOIA Bush 1 qualification, which probably explains why I check the weather forecast regularly and still carry a map and compass.
